Form Designer Component Limitations and Exceptions

When designing Form Data Sets using the built-in form designer, most standard form components and configuration options are fully supported. However, certain components and specific settings are either unsupported or operate with limited functionality within Experlogix Documents.

Use this reference guide to understand which components and settings are available when building forms.

Detailed Notes

File Uploads & Storage

Recommended Storage: Select Temporary Project Storage for file upload components in production workflows. This routes uploaded files through the automated malware scanner (supporting files up to your project limit, e.g., 2 GB).
Base64 Storage: Files stored directly as Base64 strings are embedded within the form data and are not scanned for malware.

Address Component

The Address component integrates exclusively with Azure Maps.
Switching to manual mode requires that your organization's license includes Complex Condition Logic. If this feature is not licensed, manual address mode will remain disabled.

Button Component

In Experlogix Documents, form progression and submission are controlled by the surrounding execution workflow or form host rather than standalone submit buttons inside the form layout.
Configure buttons with the Event action to trigger custom flow interactions.

Text Field as a Calendar Picker

When a standard Text Field component has its Widget property set to Calendar Picker, the underlying configuration should store the value as a date rather than raw text so that platform Field Formats (such as Date/Time formatting) can be applied automatically.
Configuration tip: If making modifications in the visual component designer, verify the data set's Source tab to ensure the widget configuration maintains "saveAs": "date".
